The Studio
Infizilla is a small Mumbai-based interior design practice that prefers clarity to ornament and conviction to consensus. We design a small number of projects each year, and care for them as if they were our own.
Infizilla began with a simple conviction — that good design is felt before it is seen. A room can be beautiful and still feel wrong; we are interested in the rooms that feel right.
We work slowly on purpose. Every project starts with weeks of unhurried conversation about how you actually live: when you wake up, where the morning light falls, which room you avoid and why, the things you've held onto for decades and the things you've been meaning to throw away.
From there, design follows. Plans, materials, fixtures, finishes — each decision argued through to a quiet conclusion. We are skeptical of trends and uninterested in spectacle. What stays, in the end, is a space that does what it should and nothing it shouldn't.
That is the work. We are grateful, every time, to be invited into it.
What we believe.
Four principles guide every brief, every drawing, every site visit. They are not a manifesto, just a set of habits we've found worth keeping.
Restraint
The hardest thing in any room is what to leave out. We make those decisions first, and protect them.
Function
A room that doesn't work doesn't qualify as designed, however beautiful. We test every choice against use.
Material honesty
Wood as wood, stone as stone, plaster as plaster. We avoid finishes pretending to be something else.
Light
Natural light is our first material. Every layout begins with where the sun arrives and how it leaves.
Let's design something quietly remarkable.
We take on a small number of projects each year. If you've got a space and a brief brewing, we'd love to hear about it.
